Safeguarding
Ogbourne CofE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The DFE has revised its safeguarding document in September 2022: 'Keeping children safe in education: information for all school and college staff'.
All our staff and governors have read this document and have been provided with hard copies for future reference.

Welcome from our Link Governor for Safeguarding
My name is Sarah Farley and I am the Safeguarding Governor working with the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in supporting the School both in keeping the children safe whilst they are here and in promoting their welfare. This role is an important one since I must:
- understand the requirements of safeguarding as it is a governance requirement under the Education Act;
- check that the School is compliant with statutory guidance;
- and ensure we have effective systems in place to keep all children, especially those who may be more vulnerable, safe.
Although I have only recently taken over this role, I enjoy the contact it gives me with the School and the responsibility to ensure we keep our children safe whilst here.
Welcome from our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL)
Lucy Crump and Amanda Virgilio are Ogbourne's Designated Safeguarding Leads. The safety and well being of all the children at Ogbourne CofE Primary School is of paramount importance and we have clear and concise procedures in place to ensure that every child and adult is safe. We meet and exceed all statutory requirements and regularly monitor safeguarding provision. We expect all staff, volunteers, parents, carers and the wider school community to share our commitment to safeguarding our children.
All Ogbourne staff and volunteers are trained in safeguarding and safety procedures.
Our Deputising Designated Safeguarding Lead is Cathryn Ramsden; our Safeguarding Governor is Mrs Sarah Farley. Below is some additional information which you may find useful for use at home as well as at school.
