Our Governors
Our governors form the Local Governing Board (LGB) within Excalibur Academies Trust, the structure of which is published on our Multi-Academy Trust page. It is also available, along with further information, on Excalibur's website.
The role of the LGB is to work with the school to ensure we are providing the highest standards of teaching and learning. The LGB also works with the school to further our work within the local community. The Chair represents our school at the LGB Chair's Forum which reports to the Directors of Excalibur Academies Trust.
Our LGB is made up of representatives of the staff and parents. We have foundation governors (who represent the interests of our church status) as well as community governors.
The governors can be contacted via the clerk (Suzanne Hepworth): suzanne.hepworth@excalibur.org.uk
Welcome from Chair of Governors
My name is Stuart Harvey, and I am incredibly proud to be Chair of Governors at our wonderful school. I have been a member of the governing board as a parent governor for three years and it has been brilliant to become more involved in the school over that time.
As a young boy I moved to the village and spent 5 very happy years as a pupil at Ogbourne. This was at a time when there were under 30 students in the whole school and to see it develop and flourish into what it is now is incredibly inspiring.
After many years of living all over the UK I now live in Baydon with my wife and two children, one who is currently a pupil at Ogbourne and one who will be joining shortly. I have had a long and close connection to the school as my mum was a member of staff for over thirty years before retiring in the Autumn of 2021, and I also used to run an after-school drama club for the students.
My background is in theatre and education, after 15 years as a freelance theatre director I have spent the past 8 years as Course Leader and Head of Curriculum at internationally recognised Performing Arts College. I hope to see the continued develop of the arts at Ogbourne Primary alongside the successful curriculum that is currently being delivered, with a real emphasis on safeguarding and wellbeing.
As a governing body we meet 6 times a year to support staff in the implementation and development of policies. We are also there to reinforce the school ethos and values.
I want to continue the work being done to make the school a focal point of the community, to make sure the Ogbourne Primary is a welcoming place for all and a happy and safe place for our children to learn.
